of you in the NYC area can get a live preview & world premiere
of the new CD and a copy to take home at the CD Release
Concert at The Cutting Room on May 23rd. Doors open
at 7pm and tickets can be purchased through links provided below.

The
concert will feature DBR in solo performance, with DJ Scientific,
and with DBR & THE MISSION, in their only NYC appearance
this season. Additionally, we're excited to announce our very
special guest, DJ Spooky, in performance with DBR and selected
members of the band.

Known
for fusing his classical music roots with a myriad of
soundscapes, Harlem-based composer/performer Daniel Bernard
Roumain (DBR) premieres new multi-genre works off of his
debut commercial release etudes4violin&electronix.
DBR presents his own intricate series of solo works and
pulsing duets seamlessly blending hip-hop, rock, funk
and classical music. From Thirsty Ear Recordings, etudes4violin&electronix
is the classically-driven kaleidoscopic album for discerning
new music lovers with a penchant for progressive electronic
music. It showcases a unified dialogue between DBR and
ambassadors from today's contemporary musical landscape
including Philip Glass, Ryuichi Sakamoto, DJ Spooky
that Subliminal Kid and DJ Scientific.
DBR
joins a roster of today's most innovative artists in the
Blue Series, a critically acclaimed collection of recordings
by Thirsty Ear. From free jazz masters, to some of the
most innovative producers working in the world of modern
hip-hop and electronic music, the Blue Series has come
to encompass some of the most exciting developments in
creative music since the turn of the new millennium. Previous
releases include jazz legends William Parker, Tim Berne,
David S. Ware and Matthew Shipp, and recordings featuring
DJ Spooky, Dave Lombardo, Chuck D, U.K. electronica titans
Spring Heel Jack, and hip-hop innovators El-P and Antipop
Consortium.
