to create a series of musical segments entitled String
Moods for their programs. Chosen for his unique
take on string sounds and arrangements infused with beats and
electronics, DBR embarks upon his first TV collaboration.

The
Egg in Albany, NY, has commissioned three composers
to commemorate the Hudson River Valley Quadricentennial: Mark
O'Connor, Don Byron and DBR. DBR has collaborated with
filmmaker Bill
Morrison to create a new work entitled
Soundtrack for a Shared Dream, premiering Apr
12. |
Makandal is a new contemporary opera conceived
by multidisciplinary artist Carl
Hancock Rux (libretto), in collaboration
with DBR (score) and Haitian-American visual artist
Edouard
Duval Carrie (decor). A work-in-progress showing
will take place at NY's Harlem
Stage on May 2.
