[NYC] August 10, 2006: Ebb & Flow: Dana Leong & DBR
Join us downtown at this unique venue for a genre-jumping electronic/acoustic party featuring DBR & THE MISSION and Dana Leong Trio.
Spiegel Tent is the world's most famous traveling venue. From their beginnings in Belgium at the turn of the last century, these iconic tents have been traveling the world as part of arts festivals and fairs. This temporary performance space features a European beer garden, beautiful art-deco decor, and amazing views of Manhattan and Brooklyn from the East River.
DBR & THE MISSION share the stage with Dana Leong, a fellow-hybrid composer and band leader who regularly subs for Yo-Yo Ma. Dana Leong will be performing with his Trio to create a fusion of computerized electronic hip-hop, jazz funk rhythms and rock propulsions.

[Reno, NV] July 31, 2006: DBR & THE MISSION at Artown
DBR & THE MISSION made new fans and headlines at the band's Reno debut during the closing night of Artown.
Chris Harris, 51, of Reno says "When I heard they were going to be in town, I definitely had to come out and see them. They don't do much on the West coast. It's the strings, basically the strings I like and (DBR's) ability to do so much with them."
Myspace Friend, 15, says "hey. You guys don't know who i am but i was just at ur last concert in RENO!! =) Just thought that i would tell u that my music teacher did a month long lesson on daniel. and personally i did not really listen to what she say. What the fans are saying (from CDBaby.com)
***** [5 stars]
Roumain's new disk, "pulsing" merges the exploration of pure sound with rich cultural references. It has its roots in the minimalism of the New York School, and the evolving history of black popular music. It unfolds abstract sound, and wraps it onto a rich musical tradition; a stunning package materializes. The violin performance of Filter is riveting.
***** [5 stars]
Pulsing IS what it is...PULSING! Orbit, with its cascading rhythms and melodies, prepares you to enter the musical world of that which can only be described as 'Planet DBR' At first, the tranquil and slow-paced vibes of Imprint command a mournful presence. Then suddenly, the somber notes are transformed into a climatic born-again frenzy. Ultimately, the song slowly drowns back to the place from which it rose.... Read More
